Internship Blog: Effortless Bohemian Living Room

This style is the perfect embodiment of “California Dreamin’”. When I see a home that inhibits the bohemian, southern cali feel, I can’t help but feel some envy. Who doesn’t love shaggy furs and vintage rugs?? The look is effortlessly chic while also not being the least bit pretentious. But getting that style just right is tricky because you don’t want to over-do it or combine too many styles making it too eclectic. Combining iconic, modern pieces with Middle Eastern classics is the perfect way to achieve a unique, bohemian home- and we’ve got the go-to guide on the simple steps to paradise.

Step 1: Vintage Rugs

1. One Kings Lane // 2. West Elm // 3. Anthropologie

Moroccan, Turkish, Israeli, Persian- take your pick! If you can’t afford to go authentic, many brands create their own version of these beautiful styles that are totally affordable.

Step 2: Modern, Sculptured Chair

1. Ambiente Direct // 2. Design Within Reach // 3. Thayer Coggin

From the high quality leather to the wood & metal legs- you can’t go wrong with these chairs. Finding the right chair that’s eloquently built while also super cozy can be difficult, but these are some great options!

Step 3. Velvet Sofa

1. Article // 2. Jonathan Adler // 3. Z Gallerie

A deep, velvet sofa is our favorite way to cuddle up on the couch and watch movies. The bohemian lifestyle is all about relaxation, and there’t no better way to achieve that than by snuggling in one of these!

Step 4. Scandinavian Coffee Table

1. CB2 // 2. Design Within Reach // 3. Rove Concept

The perfect way to mix up this combination of bold styles! The wood adds some earthy vibes, while the strong brass or marble tops add elegance.

Step 5. Poufs

1. Jonathan Adler // 2. Anthropolgie // 3. West Elm

Let’s blend these styles with one more Middle Eastern classic- poufs! Once again, you can go for something authentic or try out an American brand’s take on these gorgeous seats.
